Retirement Security
The IAFF’s mission is to ensure that fire fighters across North America have a dignified and secure retirement. Navigating pension systems and choosing benefits can be daunting. Learn about pension resources programs, benefits assistance, and legislation we're working on to protect your retirement.
Technical Assistance
We provide an assortment of analytical tools, which gives our affiliates data-supported information when working with their respective jurisdictions to address issues such as staffing, response times, healthcare, and contract negotiation. We deploy a set of customized, proprietary analytical methods that help affiliates craft policy and initiatives. This work is divided into two reports: the Municipal Financial Analysis and the Geographic Information System analysis.
Legislative Action
The IAFF works on a variety of legislation to ensure our members are able to make a livable wage and to not be penalized in their pay and benefits. From the SALT Deductibility Act to authorizing the AFG/SAFER grants to ensure more jobs in the fire service, the IAFF takes the livelihood of our members and their families seriously.
Financial Planning & Insurance
We partner with the IAFF Financial Corporation to empower members to make smart decisions about their money, from budgeting and saving to investing, and provide vetted products and services tailored to fire fighters and their families to achieve better financial health.
Collective Bargaining
Ensuring our members have collective bargaining is a top priority of the IAFF.
