Organizing Toolkit
The IAFF Organizing Toolkit provides potential new Locals with information on the services and benefits provided to affiliates and their members. Please contact the IAFF Organizing Department if a printed copy needs to be shipped to a new Local.
The IAFF is the labor union for fire fighters, emergency medical workers, and rescue personnel throughout the United States and Canada. We are one of the largest labor unions in North America.
The very first bullet of the IAFF Constitution and By-Laws preamble reads: “Organize all fire fighters and emergency medical and rescue workers.” We continue to increase our union membership through Organizing the Unorganized.
As a reminder, organizing of any department or jurisdiction is at the discretion of the District Vice President with final approval of the General President.
