The IAFF is welcoming a new Colorado affiliate – Lower Valley Fire District Local 5265 — to the union. The fire district is about 10 miles northwest of Grand Junction and extends from the City of Fruita to the Utah-Colorado border.
As the Lower Valley Fire District Board makes decisions about the future of the fire service, Local 5265 members want to make sure they have a seat at the table.
“We organized so that we could be a part of the process,” says Local 5265 President Ben Gardner. “We are also looking forward to gaining access to the IAFF’s educational opportunities including the Affiliate Leadership Training Summit and behavioral health resources.”
Joining Gardner on the Local 5265 Executive Board are Vice President Taylor Linzey and Secretary-Treasurer Gary Mulkey.
