The following resolutions were adopted in the last two days of the 57th Convention, in addition to those adopted in the first two days, and with the exception of censure resolutions, which can be viewed here.
Resolution 15: Proposes that if a Local dissolves or forfeits its charter, it must reimburse the IAFF for any grants or loans provided within the last five years, except in cases of mergers with another IAFF Local.
Resolution 30: Urges the IAFF to prioritize legislative efforts to secure early access to affordable healthcare for retired fire fighters, including expanding Medicare eligibility to age 55.
Resolution 32: Urges the IAFF to advocate for legislation restricting the use of private firefighting resources by federal agencies, emphasizing that fire protection should be handled by public agencies and professional fire fighters.
Resolution 45: Honors Brother Pete Reagan for his over 42 years of dedicated service to the Fayetteville Firefighters Association, the Arkansas Professional Firefighters, and the IAFF.
Resolution 62: Honors Brother Roy L. “Sandy” McGhee with the title of District Vice President Emeritus in recognition of his over 41 years of dedicated service and leadership.
Resolution 63: Calls for the reprinting and updating of the IAFF history book, Symbol of Action, and the creation of educational programs to preserve and teach the union’s history.
Resolution 64: Honors Brother Thomas A. Thornberg with the title of District Vice President Emeritus in recognition of his over 45 years of dedicated service and leadership.
Resolution 65: Honors Brother David Burry with the title of District Vice President Emeritus in recognition of his nearly 43 years of service and leadership.
