Use this toolkit to help your members better understand the provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how the ACA affects them.
Read about what the ACA means for the IAFF in ACA and the IAFF. How does it affect retirees? What about the “Cadillac Tax”?
Find out how the ACA works and learn more about the provisions, section by section, in Resources.
And finally, share your personal story with the ACA and how it has affected you or your members.
The ACA was developed and passed along party lines in Congress and signed into law by President Obama in 2010. It is intended to expand access to health insurance, protect patients against arbitrary actions by insurance companies and reduce costs. As such, it has implications – good and bad – for IAFF members.
