The IAFF is welcoming a new Michigan affiliate, Highland Township Local 5267.

Oxford, OH Local 5272 is one of the newest affiliates to join the IAFF.

“Peaceful protests by our neighbors exercising their first amendment rights across America are being interrupted by violence and unrest. In the middle of the challenges and turmoil, I am proud of our IAFF fire fighters, paramedics and EMTs who are once again proving their dedication to keeping their communities safe when they are needed most.

After George Floyd died in police custody, civil unrest has spread throughout the City of Minneapolis and into neighboring jurisdictions. IAFF members are responding to emergencies as protesters march through the streets, looting and setting fires.

The IAFF is saddened to report former IAFF 5th District Vice President William “Bill” Jordan lost his battle with cancer on May 11. He was 75.

During Paramedic Services Week 2020, the IAFF salutes all paramedics across Canada and all those who are on the frontlines providing emergency medical care when Canadians are in their greatest moments of need. 

Colleyville, TX Local 5268 is one of the newest affiliates to join the IAFF.  Local 5268 represents the interests of professional fire fighters in the Colleyville Fire Department, which provides fire and EMS services to the City of Colleyville, a suburb of Dallas.

Twelve Los Angeles Local 112 members are recovering from their injuries after a massive explosion in a downtown Los Angeles, California, warehouse. Eight of them remain at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center for treatment.

The IAFF is welcoming a new Colorado affiliate – Lower Valley Fire District Local 5265 — to the union. The fire district is about 10 miles northwest of Grand Junction and extends from the City of Fruita to the Utah-Colorado border.
