    The Helping Emergency Responders Overcome Act (HERO) Act of 2021, S 2700, has been reintroduced in the U.S. Senate. The bipartisan bill, sponsored by Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Deb Fischer (R-NE), serves as companion legislation to HR 1480 in the U.S. House of Representatives.

    IAFF Members Injured in California’s Second-Largest Fire in History

    Hundreds of IAFF members continue to fight a Northern California wildfire, now the second-largest wildfire in state history. Known as the Dixie fire, it has burned more than 482,000 acres and more than 800 structures. Only the August Complex Fire of August 2020, which consumed more than 1 million acres, was bigger.

    The IAFF is saddened to learn United Emergency Medical Professionals of Arizona Local I-60 member Jacob Dindinger, 20, has died. Dindinger was one of three IAFF members who sustained gunshot wounds during a multiple-scene shooting incident in Tuscon, Arizona.
