Mission, TX Local 3609 members are doing their part to ensure everyone in their community has something to eat by supporting Mission Food Pantry and its Blessed Box program.
“When the great people at the Mission Food Pantry asked if we could help, we were proud to say yes. All they wanted was $250, but we are ready to do more,” says Local 3609 Secretary Mike Silva. “We plan to stay involved and hope to sponsor one of the boxes.”
“This is another great example of how our Local 3609 brothers and sisters are always looking for ways to help their community,” says 11th District Vice President Sandy McGhee. “I am very proud of all of the incredible work they are doing.”
With the ongoing pandemic, more and more Mission citizens need assistance feeding their families. Not all are able to go to the pantry when it is open, so the pantry placed Blessed Boxes in several neighborhoods.
Each box is stocked with nonperishable food daily. Citizens may take food from the boxes at any time.
