The IAFF is welcoming Mexia, TX local 5273.
Local 5273 represents the interests of the professional fire fighters employed with the Mexia Fire Department. The City of Mexia is approximately 40 miles east of Waco and about 1.5 hours south of the Dallas.
“Our first priority is to be a long term asset to the City of Mexia and all of the local communities we serve. We intend to help bridge gaps between the increasing costs of operating a fire department and what the department is actually budgeted each year.,” says Local 5273 President Kyle Hancock. “We are also looking forward to speaking with city and county leaders, and working hand in hand to improve the quality and safety of our service”.
Joining President Hancock on the Local 5273 Executive Board are Vice President Johnnie Brown, Secretary Brad Mills and Treasurer Brent Rudd.
