The IAFF is welcoming Boxford, MA Local 5305. The Town of Boxford is in the center of Essex County, Massachusetts.
In recent years, the number of medical calls and motor vehicle accidents have been on the rise in town. Severe motor vehicle accidents on I-95, which runs through the town, continue to increase. The Town of Boxford increased the size of the career fire fighting personnel in recent years to meet the growth in call volume. As the department has evolved to ensure high service levels to the town, the career fire fighters decided it was time to organize.
“The IAFF has an amazing wealth of resources including grant writing, fire training and seminars that we can utilize to grow as a department and as a union,” says Local 5305 President David Blake. “First priorities will be to work toward fair wages and benefits as well as identify IAFF resources that will benefit the department in general.”
Joining Blake on the Boxford, MA Local 5305 Executive Board are Vice President Michael Soltys, Treasurer Kaitlyn Colangelo and Secretary Tyler Brown.
