This November, fire fighters across Canada and the U.S. are growing mustaches to support Movember, a global initiative focused on men’s health and well-being.
Canucks Captain Quinn Hughes – grandson of a New York City fire fighter – was presented with a special helmet on behalf of Kelowna, BC Local 953, Whistler Fire Rescue Services and Whistler, BC Local 3944.
This year’s event was held virtually and included a $250,000 prize pool, including vacation giveaways and additional sweepstakes for union members across the U.S.
IAFF members across Canada paused to pay tribute to active military personnel, to veterans and to the nation’s fallen soldiers on Remembrance Day this year with firehall observances, visits to local cenotaphs and other acts of reflection.
