With Greater Los Angeles hit by intense wildfires, the community has come together to support those on the front lines. Among those stepping up to help are Lindy Xenidis, owner of Lindy Lu’s Kitchen catering, and her husband Phil X, guitarist for Bon Jovi.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, we started ‘Hero Drops,’ a program where we fed hundreds of frontline workers. Now, with these wildfires devastating our communities, we’re once again focused on feeding the heroes risking their lives to keep us safe,” said Xenidis.
Hero Drops, a volunteer-run initiative, has pivoted to delivering hot, nutritious meals to frontline workers across Southern California. “We’ve witnessed the exhaustion these fire fighters are facing firsthand. When we drop off meals, their faces light up,” she said.
Hero Drops has served thousands of meals, including fresh fruit boxes, hearty lasagnas, and protein-rich options like steak, chicken, and seafood. “We hand-deliver meals to fire stations, making sure they have easy grab-and-go options,” said Xenidis. “It’s one less thing for them to worry about during their grueling shifts.”
We’re thankful to Hero Drops for their support in feeding our brave fire fighters and first responders during the wildfires.

The community has responded in full force, with donations pouring in from across the country. “The support has been incredible,” Xenidis said. “We’ve received countless thank yous from fire departments, and it’s heartwarming to know our efforts are making a difference.”
Despite the ongoing devastation left in the aftermath of the fires, Xenidis remains hopeful. “It’s heartbreaking to see so much destruction, but it’s also a reminder of how much good there is in people. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming,” she said.
“We’re thankful to Hero Drops for their support in feeding our brave fire fighters and first responders during the wildfires,” said California Professional Fire Fighters President Brian K. Rice. “Their kindness brings comfort and strength to those on the front lines, fueling their fight to protect our communities. Efforts big and small from individuals and groups like this make a difference where it matters most.”
