Why you are seeing “Access Denied” on IAFF.org

Understand why you may see an “Access Denied” message on IAFF.org and how to resolve login or permission issues.

If you see an “Access Denied” message on IAFF.org, it usually means the page, document, or resource you are trying to view is restricted.

Some areas of the website are available only to active IAFF members. Other pages and files are limited to members in specific roles, such as Local officers or affiliate leaders.

Common reasons you may see “Access Denied”

You are not logged in

Many IAFF resources require you to sign in before viewing them.

  • Click the Members dropdown and select Log In
    OR

  • Click the menu (☰) icon and select Log In

After logging in, return to the page you were trying to access.

The content is limited to certain member roles

Some tools, reports, and files are available only to members serving in specific roles (for example, Local leadership or designated officers).

If you are logged in but do not have the required role permissions, you may not be able to access that content.

If you believe you should have access based on your role, contact your Local or the Membership Department for assistance.

Your membership is not active

Access to member-only content requires an active IAFF membership.

If your membership has lapsed or your status has changed, you may not have access to certain areas of the site.

Your session has expired

For security purposes, IAFF.org will automatically log users out after a period of inactivity. Log in again and return to the page.
