How to register convention credentials (delegates and alternates)

Step-by-step guidance for Local officers on submitting convention credentials, including how to register delegates, alternates, and guests for the IAFF Convention.

To participate in the IAFF Convention as a delegate or alternate, your Local must submit credentials through the IAFF Convention Credentials system. This must be completed by a Local officer with an IAFF login.

How to get started

  • Go to iaff.org/convention and click Start Credentials.

  • Log in with your IAFF username and password. You must be a recognized Local officer to access the credentials system.

Adding delegates and alternates

Once logged in, you can search for and select members from your Local’s roster to designate as delegates or alternates.

  • Members must be in good standing and on your Local’s current roster to appear in the system.

  • If a member is missing from the list, their record may need to be updated first. See the article How to update your Local roster or officer information for instructions.

Updating your roster before credentialing

Roster updates and credentials are managed separately. If you need to add a member before you can select them as a delegate or alternate:

  • Update the roster first through the IAFF Local Dashboard.

  • Allow time for the update to process before returning to the credentials system.

Deadlines and questions

Credential submission deadlines are listed in the Convention Call, available at iaff.org/convention/convention-call. For assistance, contact the IAFF at iaff.org/contact-us and select Events as the topic.
