Burlington, Iowa seeks fire fighter/paramedic
The Civil Service Commission will conduct a written entrance exam for the position of fire fighter with the Burlington, Iowa Fire Department on Friday, April 3, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the Burlington Fire Department Central Fire Station, 418 Valley St., Burlington, Iowa. Those passing the written exam will then undergo candidate physical agility testing (CPAT) on Saturday, April 4, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. Mock physical agility testing will be held on multiple dates. Please contact the Burlington Fire Department for these dates (319-753-8390).
To be eligible to take the written test, all applicants must complete and return a Burlington Fire Department application to: Director of Administrative Services Stephanie Stuecker, City Hall-3rd Floor, 400 Washington Street, Burlington, IA 52601, on or before noon on March 29, 2014. Council Bluffs, Iowa seeking a fire chief
The city of Council Bluffs, Iowa is seeking a fire chief. The fire chief works under the supervision of the Mayor, directs and administers a department of 99 sworn fire fighters/paramedics providing fire and emergency medical service to community of approximately 62,000.
The fire chief will help administer $13.2/m budget. The position requirements include extensive experience in modern fire service which has provided progressively responsible firefighting experience that includes a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the rank of captain in a city comparable to Council Bluffs. Additional experience at the command level and/or education related to fire science or fire administration is desirable; or any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Salary: $88,812 - $113,350 with excellent benefits.
Upon appointment, must become a resident of Iowa per Chapter 400 of the Iowa Code. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Snomish County, WA Fire District 7 has an opening for an entry level fire fighter/EMT. The fire district offers full testing services for the position through the National Testing Network, Inc. Select Fire and sign up for Snohomish County Fire District 7.
