Henrico County, VA Division of Fire
Henrico County, VA Division of Fire is currently seeking a Recruitment Specialist. This newly created position will coordinate Henrico Fire's efforts at creating and supporting a workforce which will meet the needs of an increasingly diverse community. The Recruitment Specialist will report directly to the Battalion Chief of Human Resources and Professional Development.
The duties of this position are as follows:
• Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of a structured recruitment program for the Division of Fire
• Responsible for coordinating all Division of Fire marketing, advertising, and outreach, specifically targeting historically under-represented groups
• Oversees and coordinates long-term, community-based future employee development efforts to include Liaison to Henrico County Schools technical education programs
• Division of Fire EMT apprenticeship program
• Division of Fire Explorer program
• Teen fire academy summer program
• Candidate preparation and mentoring program
• Coordinates efforts of Division of Fire Human Relations Committee
The successful candidate will be able to function effectively in collaboration with sworn and civilian staff and will work closely with other County departments including the Department of Human Resources, other County departments, and key community stakeholders.
Possession of a bachelor's degree in public administration or a field directly related to the position and program/agency to which assigned, plus three (3) years of responsible directly related work experience (preferably including some supervisory experience); OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Master's Degree in Human Resources is preferred. Background in public safety a plus.
Minimum Salary: $51,908
Maximum Salary: $93,276

City of Altoona, PA is hiring fire fighters
The City of Altoona, PA is seeking fire fighter applications – they can be picked up from the City Manager's office in City Hall at 1301 12th Street, Suite 100.
Applications can be picked up from 8:30A.M. until 4:30P.M. Monday through Friday.
Applicants must pass a Physical Abilities Test to be held in Altoona on Saturday, December 7 at 9:00 A.M. Applicants also pass a written Civil Service Test to be held in Altoona on Saturday, December 14 at 9:00 A.M., with a score of 70 percent or better.
Completed applications must be received by the City Manager's office no later than 12P.M. on Wednesday, November 27.
All eligibility lists are void.
Must become a resident of the City of Altoona within six (6) months of date of employment and must remain a resident of the City during the tenure of employment.

Spring Hill, Tennessee Fire Department seeking training officer
Spring Hill, Tennessee Fire Department is seeking a training officer. The qualified applicant should have five years of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must be state certified as Firefighter II, Instructor I, Fire Officer I and 2 Must possess an E.M.T. or Paramedic license and have extensive knowledge in hazardous materials operations (Hazardous Material Technician is preferred). Prior to selection, applicant must have a record free from felony crime, or a misdemeanor involving theft or giving false information, be in good physical condition as determined by NFPA medical examination and meet minimum physical fitness requirements of the Fire Fighter Professional Qualification Code as published by the National Fire Protection Association, and possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License with excellent driving history. Must possess thorough knowledge of City geography and related laws, ordinance, rules, and regulations. This position is full time, M-F, 40 hours per week.
