Member Login Frequently Asked Questions
- What is my username and password?
If you have never set up
your username and password - please use the "Register"
link to set up access.
- I heard that I can use my name as my username and my IAFF
Membership ID number as my password?
While you can set it up that way using the process shown below, IAFF does not provide members with preset
usernames and/or passwords. Use the "Register"
link to set up your username and password.
- I do not know my IAFF Membership ID number. How do I find it?
Your 7 digit member ID can be found on your membership card, in the
address label of your FIRE FIGHTER magazine or obtained from your local
Secretary/Treasurer. IAFF Membership ID numbers begin with a 0 (zero) or 1
(one). Older ID numbers may be six digits long, so place a zero
in front of a six digit ID number to make it seven digits long. (I.E.:
222222 becomes 0222222)
- I forgot my login password, how do I reset it?
Please use the “Forgot Password” link in the Member Login box to reset your password.
- We are a new local and would like to access the website.
Please use the "Register"
link on the website to sign up for website access. Please note that you will
need your IAFF membership number to sign up.
- How do I know if I am logged in?
The member login box will change to "You are logged in as..." and
your username will display. There will be a "Logout" link below that. There
will appear above the search box a new link "Members Only" or "Officers
Only".
- I am still having login problems.
Please use Internet Explorer as your internet browser, version 6 and
above. Other browsers may give unexpected results. While you may connect to
the Internet using AOL, do not use AOL browser.
- I am still having login problems.
Make sure that your browser accepts cookies from the IAFF website. Make sure
that JavaScript is enabled.
- I am still having login problems.
Send an email to nrudnev@iaff.org . Be
sure to include your name, ID number and local number and a description of
the problems. Screenshots of error messages would be helpful.
- When I try to access the IAFF store, I get the "Forbidden" message.
This usually occurs when internet security software is blocking browser
history. Please note that browser history only transmits the address of the very last page from which a link was
clicked. It does not transmit sites visited prior to that. The store
must see you as coming from the IAFF website. Bookmarks or direct links to pages inside the store will not work for this reason.
Registering for access - step by step:
1. Click "Register" link on the IAFF home page.

2. Enter your 7 digit IAFF Member ID number, First Name, Last
Name, and your Local number. This information will need to match your IAFF
member record. Click
Submit.
(Your 7 digit IAFF member ID can be found on your membership card, in the address
label of your FIRE FIGHTER magazine
or obtained from your local Secretary/Treasurer.)

3. This is the Security Edit screen. Enter a username and password
that you choose and click submit.

Your new username and password are now active and you will be transferred
to the IAFF website.
You will also receive email confirming the changes made.
