The 2026 IAFF Local Leadership Awards honored 16 members whose leadership has made a difference in their Locals and across the union.

At the 58th Convention, the IAFF and speakers honored those who died on Sept. 11 and recognized the lasting impact on those still affected 25 years afterward.

In his convention address, IAFF General President Edward Kelly highlighted the IAFF’s victories and the fights ahead to protect IAFF members, strengthen the labor movement, and build a safer profession across North America.

Fire fighters and emergency medical workers from across North America will gather in Arlington, Texas, for a week focused on unity, advocacy, and decisions that will shape the future of the IAFF.
