The IAFF is welcoming one of its newest affiliates, Falmouth, ME Local 5306.
Falmouth Fire/Rescue began transitioning to full-time paid department in August of this year to more effectively handle the growing call volume and to ensure enough personnel are available to respond at any given time.
The first seven fire fighters hired organized Falmouth Local 5306. The department and the local are expected to grow to 14 by the end of January 2021.
“We are working with the Professional Fire Fighters of Maine to be recognized by the local government and to begin work on our first contract,” says Local 5306 President Dustin Barry. “We are looking forward to working with the Town of Falmouth to grow and improve the department.
Joining Barry on the Local 5306 Executive Board are Vice President Nick Hutchins, Secretary Anna Allard and Treasurer Forrest Collins.
