Marshall County Professional EMS Association Local 5252 in West Virginia is one of the newest affiliates to join the IAFF.
The decision to organize rose from the need to standardize working operations. “Our first goal as a local is to strengthen the labor-management relationship,” says Local 5252 President David Jones. “Having an open line of communication will help us establish the most effective and efficient way to respond emergency calls.”
Meanwhile, a new gas plant will soon be opening in the county. Local 5252 hopes to also have a seat at the table as decisions are made about adding resources and response protocols.
Joining President Jones on the executive board are Vice President Robert Nash and Secretary-Treasurer Mercadie Church.
