The IAFF is saddened to report former IAFF 5th District Vice President William “Bill” Jordan lost his battle with cancer on May 11. He was 75.

“Although it has been many years, I remember him as a valued union leader and friend,” says General President Harold Schaitberger. “My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

“My best memory of Brother Jordan was the time we served together in the firehouse,” says 5th District Vice President Thomas Thornberg. “He was a great leader and fire fighter. He will be missed.”

Jordan was a proud member of Minneapolis, MN Local 82. Always wanting to do more on behalf of his fellow fire fighters, he served as Local 82 president before he was elected 5th District Vice President, a position he held from 1986 to 1990.

Jordan is survived by his wife, two daughters, two sisters and extended family.
