The IAFF has launched a new Resource Library, a single online hub for nearly 300 – and counting – health and safety resources for fire fighters and emergency medical workers. The new tool puts the information members need to protect themselves and serve their communities directly in their hands.
The publicly available library brings together IAFF-developed reports, guides, checklists, safety advisories, trainings, webinars, social media graphics, and more.
“The IAFF has a wealth of information available to help fire fighters and emergency medical workers make informed decisions about their health and safety, but those resources are only helpful if people can find and use them,” Ryan Heffernan, Assistant to the General President for Communications, said. “Our new Resource Library puts that information in one place, so members can easily find what they’re looking for.”
Users can search by topic – from building and fire codes to nutrition and fitness to occupational cancer – and filter results by year, project type, and other categories to find exactly what they need. Featured resources are highlighted on the front page.

The Resource Library is designed to make the IAFF’s information easier to find and use. Newly developed health and safety resources are added to the library as they are released, allowing members to stay up –to date on the latest guidance, research, and educational materials. The library currently focuses on health and safety but will expand to include resources from across the union later this year.
