Melissa, TX Local 5250 is one of its newest affiliates to join the IAFF.
The City of Melissa is the third-fastest growing city in Collin County and the sixth-fastest growing city in Texas. In response to the population increase, the city is looking to grow the fire department, including making two part-time positions full-time and adding new fire fighters.
“Our city is growing, so we must grow with it,” says Melissa Local 5250 President Joseph Martello. “We decided to organize so that we could speak with a unified voice regarding the addition of resources or changes in response procedures.”
Joining Martello on the Local 5250 Executive Board are Vice President Alan Sheehy, Secretary David Horan and Treasurer Kelton Brewer.
