“Given Marty Walsh’s strong labor roots and background, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) applauds his nomination as labor secretary.
“President-Elect Biden is a long-time advocate of organized labor. He has never been afraid to say the word union. And his labor secretary-designee further shows his support of the union men and women who built the middle class.
“As a union worker himself, Marty Walsh understands that organized labor lifts up workers and gives them a voice on the job. As mayor, he worked with his city’s unions in a cooperative manner that was a benefit to the entire city. We look forward to him doing the same as labor secretary.”
