October 6, 2014 – Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association (UPFFA) President Peter Carozza has been re-elected to a third term as chair of the Federation of State and Provincial Professional Fire Fighters (FSPPFF). The election took place at the FSPPFF fall meeting in Chicago, Illinois.
“The Federation has made substantial changes in its meetings format to allow for more education and coordination of information with state and provincial officers. With the increased attacks from state and provincial legislatures, the FSPPFF meetings serve as a forum to find ways to better address these attacks.
Carozza says he is extremely pleased with the “truly extraordinary efforts and progress we have made. He adds, “We have some pretty amazing leaders in our state and provincial affiliates. It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as chair of this great organization made up of state officers from across the United States and Canada.”
More than 100 affiliate officers representing 40 state and provincial affiliates attended the meeting.
California Professional Firefighters President Lou Paulson was re-elected vice-chair and Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois Secretary Treasurer Tom Roate was re-elected secretary-treasurer.
The FSPPFF was formed to give IAFF state and provincial leadership a better understanding of current events and legislation that affects fire fighters across the United States and Canada.
