Request Canadian Training

The IAFF recognizes that every emergency response has the potential to involve hazardous materials. Fire fighters across Canada routinely encounter chemical, biological, radiological, and other hazardous substances while protecting their communities.

With support from the Government of Canada, the IAFF provides hazardous materials training to help Canadian fire fighters safely identify hazards, assess risks, and respond effectively in accordance with applicable Canadian regulations, standards, and best practices. Training is customized to address the unique hazards and operational needs of each jurisdiction.

IAFF HazMat programs are developed and delivered by experienced fire fighters who bring real-world operational knowledge to the classroom. Through practical, hands-on instruction, we help ensure responders have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to protect themselves, their fellow responders, and the communities they serve.
