A bill to strip collective bargaining rights from fire fighters, police officers, teachers, and other workers has been reversed – ending a long fight between Utah’s workers and lawmakers.
With support from the IAFF and state leaders, Irving, TX Local 2073’s first collective bargaining agreement establishes a plan to achieve four-person staffing on every fire apparatus by 2029.
Following its recent affiliation with the IAFF, Tracadie Local 5428 is striving to improve its department’s response capabilities and to bring wages and working conditions in line with other northern New Brunswick affiliates.
Fire departments in the United States and Canada include critical staff members who are not fire fighters or emergency medical personnel. Where possible, the IAFF seeks to be their voice when it comes to important labor issues.
