The IAFF welcomes Cypress Creek, TX Local 5322, one of its newest affiliates. Cypress Creek Fire Department is the operating name for Harris County Emergency Services District 13. It is in the northwest area of the county just outside of Houston.
The department is a combination department, but in recent years, the department has been adding more and more full-time fire fighters to accommodate the increasing need for emergency service.
“As our department continues to evolve, it seemed like the right time to organize,” says Local 5322 President David Gatlin. “Several of us had been members of other IAFF locals and knew the benefits of joining the union. We are particularly looking forward to utilizing the IAFF’s amazing training opportunities.”
Joining Gatlin on the Local 5322 Executive Board are Vice President Chad Strong, Secretary Nancy Wilson, Treasurer William McDugle, A-Shift Steward Garrett Wesley, B-Shift Steward Jerry Broussard and C-Shift Steward Anthony Carrasco.
