IAFF Fire Ground Survival & Fire Fighter Rescue Instructor Update
This intensive update course is designed for agency FGS instructors who took the IAFF FGS TtT course and/or current agency FGS instructors as determined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. The program focuses on the latest techniques, safety protocols, and best practices essential for effective teaching and practical application in the field.
Objectives:
Update New Standards: Ensure all instructors are current with updated FGS techniques, case studies, and curriculum
Advanced Techniques: Learn new and innovative fire fighter rescue methods, including situational awareness, risk assessment, and decision-making in high-stress environments.
Instructional Skills: Enhance teaching methodologies for delivering engaging and effective training sessions. Incorporate real-world scenarios and simulations to reinforce learning outcomes.
Fire Fighter Rescue Operations: Update on advancements in fire fighter rescue techniques, tools, and technologies to improve operational effectiveness and fire fighter safety.

Prerequisites:
Participants must be current FGS agency instructors and have completed the most current online FGS awareness course.
Duration:
This course consists of classroom instruction, hands-on practical training, and teach-back assessments over three days.
