Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut President Pete Carozza is taking on a new role on behalf of the state’s first responders as the new president of the 100 Club of Connecticut.
The mission of the nonprofit organization is to assist the families of fire fighters, police officers and corrections officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
“My top priority will be to ensure the families of the fallen receive the care they need after the loss of their loved one,” says Carozza. “When our families are grieving, I don’t want them to also have to worry about how bills will be paid or how they will be able to purchase expensive school supplies for the children of the fallen.”
Through the 100 Club, spouses and children of the fallen are eligible for grants to pay for unexpected expenses, including mortgage and other large debt payments, medical expenses and education costs.
In addition to serving as 100 Club president and UPFFA president, Carozza is also the IAFF Federation of State and Provincial Fire Fighters chair and State of Connecticut Fire Prevention and Control Mission chair, appointed by the governor.
