Also, see our Center of Excellence toolkit with information and resources to ensure your members have access to the Center.

Disaster Relief

The IAFF provides immediate assistance to help members and their families in the event of a disaster. This includes financial aid, peer support, food, water and shelter, vaccinations, and other services as needed.

Education and Training

Hazardous materials training, Fire Ground Survival training, and Peer Support training programs are all free of charge.

The IAFF also provides a wide range of learning opportunities to help advance your union leadership skills. See all the IAFF’s education and training offerings by visiting the Education & Training tab on your dashboard.

Grant Writing

A number of federal grants are available to help your jurisdiction with staffing, equipment, and training.

In addition to overseeing national grant programs, our grants department coordinates grant reports; manages the program and financial oversight of grant awards; ensures compliance with all federal laws, regulations and executive orders; identifies new sources of funding; and assists with questions and requests for information from IAFF affiliates interested in grants for their departments.

Health and Safety

Our members’ health and safety is our number-one priority. Premier programs address cancer, behavioral health issues, wellness-fitness, presumptive protections, and equipment safety. See more in the Health & Safety tab in your dashboard.

IAFF Financial Corporation

The IAFF Financial Corporation (IAFF-FC) provides outstanding service, numerous investment options and insurance protection, all with competitive pricing. Our service providers are nationally respected industry experts.

IAFF Foundation

The IAFF Foundation is dedicated to protecting and assisting IAFF members who put their lives on the line to save others through the Disaster Relief Fund, the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, the Burn Fund, and the McClennan Scholarship Fund.

Legal Help

Guidance and legal resources for affiliates and members are available through our IAFF Legal Counsel.

Political and Legislative Support

You have a unique opportunity through political action to make a difference in the electoral process and help elect public officials who will advocate for fire fighter issues, better tools and equipment to do the job, and ensure a healthy and safe environment both on and off the job.

We provide political action resources and assistance, from election campaigns and ballot measures, to advocacy on legislation at all levels of government. See more in the Government Affairs & Political Action tab in your dashboard.

Strategic Initiatives

The IAFF offers public relations and strategic communications assistance, video production through E-18 Media, and support on other issues facing your local. Visit the Strategic Initiatives page for more information.

Toolkits

Our resource toolkits feature resources on the most important operational issues in the fire service. Use these toolkits to educate elected officials, the media, the public – and even your own members – on specific issues.

The community outreach and public safety toolkits give you messaging tools to develop campaigns that show your members serving your community, promote public safety and ensure the public is there when you need them.

See the list of available toolkits in the Resources tab on your dashboard. Then choose Toolkits.
