The IAFF is welcoming a new Massachusetts affiliate, Georgetown Local 5299.
Georgetown is a small but growing town in Essex County, Massachusetts. In July 2019, the department began transitioning from part-time fire fighters to full-time to accommodate for the growing call volume and the need for a consistent number of fire fighters to respond to emergencies.
“We wanted to use this period of transition to solidify our relationship with the town government and have a seat at the table as decisions are being made about the future of our department,” says Georgetown, MA Local 5299 President Brian Belfiore.
Joining President Belfiore on the Local 5299 Executive Board are Vice President Bret Moyer, Secretary Jennifer Hicks and Treasurer James Driscoll.
