Alfred K.Whitehead Legislative Conference

March 8-11, 2020 • Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill • Washington, DC

#IAFFLegCon

The dynamic environment in Washington, DC, makes advocacy work more important than ever. At the 2020 IAFF Legislative Conference, you will learn more about the current political landscape and its impact on programs and policies that affect fire fighters. The conference will guide you through the challenges and opportunities facing fire fighters on Capitol Hill and in the White House.

You will learn about IAFF priority legislation and be able to advocate directly with legislators on key federal issues, including legislation impacting your jobs, health and safety and economic security.

The IAFF Legislative Conference has long been the cornerstone of the IAFF’s legislative efforts. Over the years, the IAFF has won many significant victories – from establishing the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program that promotes safe fire ground staffing, to ensuring 9/11 first responders receive the health care they deserve, to establishing a national fire fighter cancer registry, to defeating legislation designed to undermine our members’ defined benefit pensions – due in large measure to the work of affiliate leaders at this conference.

The IAFF Financial Corporation is a proud sponsor of the IAFF Legislative Conference.
