Et, en fin de compte, nous devons prot\u00e9ger chaque pompier qui intervient en cas de d\u00e9raillement.  <\/p><cite>Pr\u00e9sident g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Edward Kelly<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph \">\n<p>Il a fallu plus d\u2019une heure aux pompiers form\u00e9s par Mati\u00e8res dangereuses pour atteindre les lieux \u00e0 East Palestine, tandis que les \u00e9quipes locales tentaient de ma\u00eetriser l\u2019incendie avec un \u00e9quipement et des informations limit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph \">\n<p>Depuis, il y a eu plus de 200 collisions ferroviaires et 3 100 d\u00e9raillements \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle nationale, dont plusieurs incluent des mati\u00e8res dangereuses. En moyenne, un train d\u00e9raille aux \u00c9tats-Unis et lib\u00e8re au moins 1 000 gallons de toxines tous les deux mois, selon le <a href=\"https:\/\/cnsmaryland.org\/2025\/08\/06\/many-towns-unprepared-for-derailments-hazmat-spills-that-can-trigger-fires-evacuations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Howard Center for Investigative Journalism<\/a>. Pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 de ces incidents ont entra\u00een\u00e9 des \u00e9vacuations.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph \">\n<p>Cette l\u00e9gislation bipartite doublerait le financement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral utilis\u00e9 pour former les pompiers \u00e0 intervenir lors d\u2019incidents Mati\u00e8res dangereuses. Elle renforcerait \u00e9galement les exigences de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 ferroviaire visant \u00e0 pr\u00e9venir les d\u00e9raillements, notamment en exigeant des membres d\u2019\u00e9quipage suppl\u00e9mentaires dans les trains, en mettant en place des d\u00e9tecteurs de d\u00e9fauts et en interdisant aux chemins de fer de fixer des d\u00e9lais dangereux lors des inspections.
