Governor Jim Doyle just signed important legislation brought forward by our state association, the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin.  The law requires municipalities to now pay the health insurance premiums of the spouse and children (up to 27 years old) of a Wisconsin fire fighter killed in the line-of-duty.  Great job and thanks again Governor Doyle!

The IAFF website maintains a viewable database on all state and provincial presumptive disease laws.  You can review our Presumptive Health Initiative and find out what benefits are available to you, what to do if your state or province does not have such legislation, and some history and technical documents.  We are also working to add to this site state and provincial laws similar to the one just signed in Wisconsin, as well as other legislation that benefits our survivors.
