Dell, the third largest PC maker in the world, has announced it will not renew its membership in the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).

Dell follows the lead of 19 other corporations to drop ALEC since this spring. The other companies include: Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Kaplan, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mars, Inc., Intuit, Proctor & Gamble, Reed Elsevier, America Traffic Solutions, Arizona Public Services and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
