Tennessee public employee unions are facing an extreme and ill-conceived attack on their rights.

Senate Bill 123 attempts to void existing agreements between local governments and public unions.

Tennessee is a Right to Work state and public employees there have  fought off numerous attempts to weaken the few rights they have. If this piece of legislation is passed it would irrevocably break the trust between the city and groups representing employees. It is also another blatant attack against employee rights.

This damaging legislation, which affects workers and unions across Tennessee, was introduced by a state lawmaker in response to political problems in his district. The bill is in the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee.

Tennessee IAFF members oppose the bill and are encourag the public to stand with them to fight this hare-brained attack on their rights.
