Union Sportsman's Association Welcomes Union Hunters and Anglers
December 18, 2006 -- The IAFF -- along with other AFL-CIO unions -- has allied with the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) to unite union men and women who share a common interest in hunting, fishing and shooting through the new Union Sportsman's Association.
TRCP and its union partners will officially announce the launch of USA at the Shot Show in Orlando, Florida, January 11-14, 2007.
Featuring its own magazine, web site and affinity program to promote U.S., Canadian and union-made products and equipment whenever possible, and offer discounts on merchandise and trips, USA is open to all IAFF members. Information on joining -- including how to become a charter member -- will be available in early 2007. More information on USA will also be sent to IAFF members in the upcoming months.
Founded on Theodore Roosevelt's love of conservation issues and the outdoors, TRCP is focused on conserving, maintaining and enhancing access to land and water available to the public.
Charter Union Partners include the IAFF, International Association of Machinists (IAMAW), the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Transportation Communications International Union (TCU), United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial & Service Workers International Union (USW) and the AFL-CIO.
