National Paramedic Institute Training
 The International Association of Fire Fighters has
partnered with National Paramedic Institute (NPI) to offer
continuing education credits for IAFF first responder, EMT and
paramedic members. Canadian and U.S. members who access NPI online
training programs via the IAFF web site are eligible for discounts
on individual training required for EMS certification at all levels.
The new partnership with National Paramedic Institute will allow
IAFF members to access Medic Monthly, National Paramedic
Institute's online educational series for fire fighters, EMTs and
paramedics. The Medic Monthly training offers CECBEMS-approved
online learning, streaming videos, online testing, online tracking
and issuing of continuing education credits, personalized continuing
education “bank accounts” to track all continuing education credits
and continuing education completion certificates. In addition, IAFF
leaders and members will be able to access IAFF modules on a variety
of union and fire service topics.

The IAFF has long worked to assure our members are equipped
with the information and tools necessary to promote and support fire-based EMS
systems. We have historically offered workshops at our Biennial EMS Conference
that provide opportunities for EMS continuing education credits. But never
before has the IAFF offered clinically based EMS education opportunities to our
members. Our new partnership with National Paramedic Institute allows us to
offer these continuing education opportunities online so they are accessible to
all IAFF members with EMS credentials.
