Orange County Fire Fighters On a Roll for
Charity
September 21, 2005 - Orange County, CA Local
3631 will participate in the 2nd annual Orange County Burn
Association Burn Out Poker Run and 22nd Love Ride.
The 2nd annual Orange County Burn
Association Burn Out Poker Run will be held October
2, 2005. The 70-mile ride and poker run begins at 8:30 a.m.
from Fashion Island, Newport Beach to Harley Davidson of
Anaheim-Fullerton. The run will benefit the Orange County
Burn Association, which supports burn survivors throughout
Orange County, California.
The ride includes at least one stop at an
Orange County fire station, lunch, raffle prizes, a poker
hand with prizes for high and low, live music and more.

Local 3631 will also be participating in the
22nd Love Ride on November 13, 2005. The Love Ride is
one of the largest one-day motorcycle events in the world
with the goal of improving the quality of life for those
less fortunate.
This year, more than 22,000 riders are
expected, starting from Harley Davidson of Glendale at 9:15
a.m. to Castaic Lake. The ride benefits MDA, Reading by 9 (a
group formed to encourage children to learn to read by the
age of 9), City of Hope and many others. A portion of this
year’s proceeds will also be donated to the IAFF Disaster
Relief Fund.
Celebrities including Jay Leno have been
longtime participants in the ride. This year’s entertainment
includes B.B. King and Jack Mack and the Heart Attack.
