IAFF Media Awards are given in four major categories:
PRINT, BROADCAST and INTERNET MEDIA
A: Best news story, series, or feature published in a newspaper, magazine or trade publication with a circulation of less than 100,000.
B: Best news story, series, or feature published in a newspaper, magazine or trade publication with a circulation of more than 100,000.
C: Best editorial/opinion on fire service or labor issues.
D: Best photo published in a newspaper or magazine
with a circulation of less than 100,000.
E: Best photo published in a newspaper or magazine
with a circulation of more than 100,000
F: Best television news, story, feature or
G: Best news story originally published on a
web-based news site.
H. Best fire service photo originally published on a web-based news site
Category II. MULTI-MEDIA
I.Best Blog Entry/Post
(Up to 5 URLs can be submitted on specific blog
posts relating to the fire service. Please include any blog comments
received on the post.)
J. Best YouTube Video
(Up to 5 URLs can be submitted for this category illustrating a local’s
effectiveness on government and civic issues in their community. Videos
must not be longer than five minutes.)

K: Best IAFF affiliate publication
(circulation less than 1,000)
IAFF affiliate publication

design, content and use are judged in this category.)

At its discretion, the IAFF may recognize entries which do not fit in other categories listed.
