This photo was taken as a Broward County Sheriff’s Office Air Rescue lifts a trauma patient from the scene of a crash. The picture is well framed and shows fire-based EMS working to save a life.

Cincinnati Local 48 members can be seen in this smoke-filled photo as they ventilate a slate roof during a single-alarm fire. The shot is a well-composed visual of fire fighters performing this dangerous task effectively.

This photo was taken during a marine shipboard training exercise. Due to the smoke, it is difficult to see the surroundings, but the photographer was still able to bring the fire fighter in the center into sharp focus.
