Immokalee Fire Fighters Extends Boots for MDA

October 30, 2009 - Immokalee, FL Local 4657 Immokalee fire fighters took to the streets Labor Day weekend to collect for MDA. It was the first time in more than 15 years that the Immokalee Local 4657 raised money to support MDA. Under the guidance of Local 4657 President Tom Cunningham and Local 4657 MDA Coordinator David Patterson, the Fill the Boot Program was a huge success, raising $6,000!

All proceeds from the Immokalee fundraising efforts were presented to the MDA at the 2009 Annual Labor Day Telethon broadcast. The money will aid local children and adults affected by neuromuscular diseases, helping MDA to provide wheelchairs, leg braces, clinic visits, support groups, flu shots and a week-long summer camp for children ages six to 18.
