Renton Fire Fighters Raise 10K for MDA

August 27, 2009 - Renton, WA Local 864 fire fighters held their Fill-the-Boot drive, raising $10,907.32 – twice the amount collected during the last Fill-the-Boot in 2007, which raised $5,319.

This is the Renton Local 864’s second year participating in Fill the Boot, a 55-year partnership between MDA and the IAFF. Local 864 President Doug McDonald says, “The MDA and the Renton fire fighters worked hard this year after city and county ordinances had kept them from collecting in previous years, and look how it paid off." Next year the local hopes to raise $15,000.
