June 26, 2008 - Oklahoma City, OK Local 157 was joined by several MDA goodwill ambassador families at its media kick-off for the 2008 Fill-the-Boot collection. In 2007, Oklahoma City fire fighters had their best year ever and was the top department in the state for Fill-the-Boot. Station 1 has been the top collecting station for several years and earned the right to host the media kick-off and represent Oklahoma City fire fighters on television and in the newspapers.

During its six-day Fill-the-Boot collection, Local 157 raised $216,731 – nearly $40,000 more than in 2007 – setting a new record for Oklahoma City and the state! MDA extends a gigantic thank you to Oklahoma City Local 157 firefighters for their true dedication to MDA!
