June 25, 2008 - Coon Rapids, MN Local 1935 held its first Fill-the-Boot drive, raising an outstanding $10,840. Coon Rapids fire fighters collected morning, noon and evening during this three-day. Local 1935 Fill-the-Boot Coordinator Pat Metz, Local 1935 President Tom Johnson and fire fighter Joe Caminati were integral to gaining support from entire fire department and worked tirelessly to ensure that Local 1935 surpassed its original goal of $5,100. Local 1935 also received tremendous support from the community and media. Coon Rapids, MN Local 1935 was also recognized June 3, 2008, at the Coon Rapids City Council meeting for their efforts.
