The Sixth Annual Connecticut MDA/IAFF Boot Camp took place April 30 at Water’s Edge in Westbrook, Connecticut. Approximately 30 IAFF locals were in attendance along with Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut President Peter Carozza.

Connecticut IAFF members were recognized for their outstanding support of MDA in 2007. Guest speaker Captain Peter Kearney, Uniformed Fire Officers Association (UFOA) of New York Local 854 spoke about how muscular dystrophy has affected his family; his son, Kevin, has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The theme for the meeting was a Luau. Awards were given to the Highest Fundraising Local, New/Restored, Goal Breakers and Double Club. New Haven Local 825 took the top award for the highest fundraising local -- $35,150.
