IAFF 5th District Vice President Joe Conway and other 5th District leaders assembled in Minneapolis to kick off the 2008 Fill-the-Boot program. More than 60 attendees representing some 25 Locals – a nearly 100 percent increase in attendance from the prior year – participated in the event.

The kick-off event began with a trip to the Metrodome to watch the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 3-1. The following day, the group exchanged ideas, recognized 2007 achievements and set a $282,000 goal for the 2008 campaign.
