August 10, 2007 -- Members of London, ON Local 142 have rediscovered that Boot Drives are an excellent way to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy.

Local 142 President Jim Holmes explains the local used to hold Boot Drives for Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC) in the past, but got away from them over the years. But when he mentioned the idea a couple of years ago, his members were in agreement and the Boot Drives were back on.

London fire fighters held toll-style Boot Drives using fire vehicles and off-duty fire fighters in 2005 and 2006, and raised a total of $25,000 for MDC. Another drive will take place later this year.

“This just demonstrates our ongoing commitment to MDC,” Holmes says.
