Hardee County FFs Raise Over $3K

More than 30 fire fighters of Hardee County FL Local 3471 raised more than $3,380 over one weekend in May. Their 2004 Boot Drive was cancelled when a devastating Hurricane Charlie made a direct path through the county. The local community is rebuilding and showed great support to fire fighter this year.


Orange County Fire Fighters Flying High

Orange County, FL Local 2057 fire fighters have broken all records in this year’s Fill-the-Boot collections. In just three days, fire fighters raised more than $82,000 to help in the fight against neuromuscular diseases. Citizens of Orange County gave generously to fire fighters throughout Orlando. The total raised doesn't stop here...many more fundraising activities are still planned.


Tallahassee FFs Defeat Amendment Fill-the-Boot

Tallahassee, FL Local 2339 held its annual boot drive to support MDA, raising $27,327, nearly double the amount raised in 2004. This year’s success is especially meaningful after the City of Tallahassee’s attempt in 2004 to prohibit the annual boot drive. The proposed amendment was defeated by Local 2339 and the MDA.


Way To Go Local 4321!

Broward County, FL Local 4321’s spring boot drive and poker tournament for MDA brought in a whopping $41,015. Accepting the check from Local 4321 President Walt Dix, Chief Chuck Lanza, MDA Coordinator Harris Bouchillon and other fire fighters are the Sakowitz family from Broward County, FL and MDA District Director Jessica Roof. Local 4321's fundraising has almost doubled since last year and the members will go out again before Labor Day.


East Manatee Bonds During Summer Camp

Kissimmee Close to Goal Already!
  
Kissimmee, FL Local 4208 fire fighters hit the streets for MDA on May 12 - 14, 2005 to reach their 2005 Fill-the-Boot goal of collecting $25,000. Guess what, they were able to raise an astonishing $19,456 during their boot drive.


Des Moines FFs With Goodwill Ambassador
  
MDA Iowa Goodwill Ambassador Gabe Stump visited Des Moines, IO Local 4 fire station with his mom Jeanie and Iowa/Nebraska MDA Director John Claese. Gabe brought rice crispy treats for the crew and fire fighters gave Gabe a t-shirt.


Cocoa Members Raise $3K Plus
  
Cocoa, FL Local 2416 raised more than $3,630 during their Spring boot drive in May and are anxious to go out again later this year for MDA.


East Manatee Members Fill-the-Boot
  
Community support in the Braden River area was overwhelming during the East Manatee, FL Local 2074 sponsored Fill-the-Boot fundraiser conducted on April 30, 2005 for Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Fire fighters raised an all time high of $2,846 for Jerry’s Kids!


Richardson Shatters 2004 Record
  

Fire fighters from Richardson, TX Local 1954 set a new record during their April 2005 Fill-the-Boot campaign for second year in a row. They surpassing their 2004 collection of $26,927 this year by collecting more than $37,400 in three days in 2005.


Fire Fighters Entertain MDA Kids In Harrisburg

 
Fire fighters hosted a big party and entertained MDA kids and their families at the Professional Fire Fighters of Pennsylvania Convention held in Harrisburg, PA.


North Platte FFs Join the Party

Orange County Raises Over $38,000
 
Orange County, CA Local 3631 and MDA participated in a county-wide Fill-the-Boot campaign to raise more than $38,000! The two-day fund raiser included four intersections throughout Orange County (San Clemente, Laguna Hills, Irvine, and Buena Park). More than 60 fire fighters helped to make this fund-raising a huge success.


Duxbury and Kingston Fire Fighters Bowl to Glory
  

Duxbury, MA, Local 2167 members joined teams from Kingston, MA Local 2337 for Duxbury's 2nd Annual Bowl-A-Thon for MDA. The event raised $823.


Kentucky Powers Come Together

In 2003 the firefighter in Kentucky raised over $100,000 for MDA.

Suncoast, FL Local 2546 fire fighters came out in full force to collect for MDA in February, 2005.


Cincinnati Fire Fighters Honored
 
Cincinnati, OH Local 48 Secretary/Treasurer Tommy Marzheuser and Director of Communications Doug Stern accept an award on behalf of Local 48 from MDA's Regional Director Denise Durel and District Director Elizabeth Hodapp for their success in their 2nd annual Fill-the-Boot campaign that raised $72,921.


Coral Spring Doubles Up
  
Coral Springs, FL Local 3080 doubled their Boot Drive income from $2,026 to $4,339 by doing their Boot Drive on December 26-28, 2004. They want to reach $10,000 this year!


Columbia Fire Fighters Make Us Proud!
 
Columbia, SC Local 793 members Capt. Robert Rabon and Capt. Eddie Baughman accepting the 2004 Highest Per Capita Award for the Carolinas IAFF-MDA Boot Drive at at the Columbia Fire Museum. Local 793 raised more than $118,250 with help of 187 members, equaling $632.39 per member.
