INGREDIENTS

1 lb. flank steak, trimmed of all fat
16 8” asparagus spears, trimmed
16 8” scallions, trimmed
6 tbsp. seasoned rice vinegar
6 tbsp. low sodium soy sauce
4 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. toasted sesame oil
RECIPE

  • Slice steak across the grain into 16 strips – ¼ - ½ inches thick.
  • Pound each slice to about ⅛ inch, set aside.
  • Place on asparagus and scallion across short end of a piece of steak; roll-up and secure with toothpick.
  • Repeat with remaining ingredients and place in shallow baking pan in single layer.
  • Whisk together the remaining ingredients and pour over meat. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat broiler to high and broil steaks for 5 minutes turning half way through broiling time.
  • Remove steaks to plate and return pan to broiler; let marinade boil down to a glaze.
  • Brush on steaks before serving.
